Ship Bottom Lifeguard Invitational postponed due to dangerous water conditions

The 24th annual Ship Bottom Lifeguard Invitational-Jack Donlon Memorial Race was postponed Thursday due to dangerous water conditions.

Keith Stokes, the Ship Bottom Beach Patrol Captain, announced that the event has been rescheduled for 6 p.m. Aug. 13 at 20th Street beach in Ship Bottom on Long Beach Island.

The Ship Bottom Invitational, a seven-race event, has be renamed to honor the late Donlon, a former Ship Bottom Beach Patrol captain.
