Cody Meyer struck out three and allowed no hits in the final two innings to earn the save and lead Absecon to a 3-2 win over Northfield in an Atlantic County Baseball game in Absecon on Thursday.
Kenny Morgenweck led Absecon (8-5), going 2-for-3 with a run scored, and Kevin Cicali had a hit and a run. Mike Hampton had two walks, a run, and an RBI.
For Northfield (6-5), Nick Zienuk and Billy Kern each singled and walked.
Hammonton 13, Ocean City 7: Kyle Congdon earned the win, pitching five innings and striking out five. Trevor Rosenberg went 3-for-5 with three RBIs for Hammonton (6-8).
Justin Healey led Ocean City (1-11) with two RBIs.
Wildwood 15, Egg Harbor Township 9: Matt Morey had two doubles, two runs and four RBIs to lead Wilwood (9-2). Nic Long went 3-for-4 with an RBI and two runs scored and Dan McNamara was the winning pitcher.
Zach Meyer had three RBIs for EHT (1-11).
Margate 15, Ventnor 2: Joe Noyes struck out six and allowed four hits in a game that went five innings due to the league’s 10-run rule. Pat Goodwin homered for the Hurricanes (11-0). Dave Housel had three hits and two RBIs.
Magic Mears, Jason Law, Corey Pardo and Ross Costello had two hits apiece.
For Ventnor (3-5), Artie Ocasio hit a two-run home run in the fifth inning.
