ACBL roundup: Wildwood wins despite Rosenberg striking out 13 for Hammonton

Winning pitcher Joey Couch improved to 4-1 on the season as Wildwood defeated Hammonton 2-1 in an Atlantic County Baseball League game Wednesday.

Couch allowed three walks and three hits, while striking out five and giving up an unearned run. Mike Mulligan hit a solo shot for Wildwood (8-2) in the fifth inning for a 2-0 lead. Matt Morey and Curtis Gift both doubled.

For Hammonton, Trevor Rosenberg struck out 13 in seven innings, walking three and giving up four hits.

Egg Harbor City 2, Ventnor 1: Cody Stashak recorded a bases-loaded strikeout to clinch the win for Egg Harbor City (6-4). Stashak had six strikeouts and allowed five hits in seven innings. Stashak and George Homan each drove in a run for EHC in the first inning.

Ventnor's Vincent Terry had two hits and Will Scull knocked in a run.

Northfield 8, Absecon 2: Jared Lenko pitched a complete game for Northfield (6-4) and struck out eight. Mike Dugan and Billy Kern each had two runs scored to contribute to the 8-2 victory over Absecon (7-5).

Ken Morgenweck had two hits in the loss for Absecon.
