Dan Allen struck out six in six innings as second-seeded Absecon defeated Egg Harbor City 11-3 Tuesday to force a Game 3 in their first-round Atlantic County Baseball League playoff series.

Allen also was 3-for-4 with a home run, double and four RBIs. The final game of the series is 7 p.m. today at Absecon.

Kenny Morgenweck doubled twice and had three RBIs. EJ Stoltzfus was 2-for-3, including a double, and was hit twice by pitches. Anthony Cocuzza went 2-for-3 with three RBIs.

For No. 7 Egg Harbor City, Anthony Ardente went 2-for-3.

Hammonton 5, Ventnor 3: Mike Crescenzo hit a three-run home run in the seventh for No. 3 Hammonton as they elminated No. 6 Ventnor 5-3 in Game 2 of their series.

Winning pitcher Brad Mountain pitched a complete game and struck out eight. Aaron Cantione had a two-run single for Hammonton.

Juan Mejia hit a two-run homer for Ventnor.

Margate 11, Egg Harbor Township 2: Winning pitcher Joe D'Allesandro went five innings, struck out seven and gave up just two hits. Tim Crowford pitched two in relief and struck out four.

Magic Mears had three hits, including a grand slam for No. 1 Margate, which advanced to the next playoff round. Steve Schrenk and Ross Costello each had two hits. Each player in Margate's lineup had a hit for a team total of 13.

Rob Algeo had two hits, including a double, for EHT.

Northfield 18, Wildwood 7: Ryan Lally struck out eight in a complete-game effort as Northfield, the No. 4 seed, clinched their playoff series.

For Northfield, AJ Hanson had two hits, two runs and five RBIs. Mike Adams had three hits and two runs. Jim Hanson had two hits and three runs. Tom Bradway had two hits and scored twice. Eric Fitzgerald hit a two-run home run and had three RBIs.

Wildwood's Adam Bart had three hits and scored a run. Mike Mulligan had two hits and two runs. Marvin Evans tripled and scored twice.
