Egg Harbor Township beats Northfield for first win in Atlantic County Baseball League

The Egg Harbor Township Barracudas scored seven runs in the top of the seventh as they earned their first win of the season, 9-5 over Northfield in an Atlantic County Baseball League game Wednesday night.

Jordan Chambers had two hits and three RBIs for EHT. Melvin Rosario Jr. scattered six hits and struck out five for the win.

Tim Bradway and Jim Hanson each had two hits for Northfield.

Absecon 7, Ventnor 2: C.J. Wallowitch went 2-for-2 with a walk and two runs scored for Absecon. Kenny Morgenweck went 2-for-3 with a double and two RBIs. Dom Montanaro had a two-run double for Absecon. Winning pitcher John Waters pitched all five innings and struck out two.

Juan Mejia hit a solo home run in the fifth for Ventnor.

The game was called after the fifth due to weather.

Margate 10, Hammonton 4: Margate scored five runs in the first inning and three more in the second to go up 8-0 at Jerome Avenue Field in Margate.

The game was shortened to six innings due to rain. Margate is 5-0.

Margate’s Joe Farrell singled in two runs in the first inning, and teammate Jason Law singled in two runs in the second. Teammate Ross Costello doubled.

Winning pitcher Lou Pepper (3-0) went five innings and struck out six. For Hammon-ton (3-5), Tom Joyce doubled.
