Hammonton advances to District 16 13-14 year old baseball championship

Matt Vaccarella and Brandon Gazzara each had RBIs as Hammonton defeated Lower Cape May 3-2 in a District 16 13-14 baseball game Thursday.

Hammonton scored its runs in the fourth inning.

Izick Flores earned the win with eight strikeouts, allowing two hits in 42/3 innings.

Hammonton advances to the District 16 championship on Monday at 7 p.m. at Middle Township.

From Tuesday

Hammonton 14, Cape May County 2: Vinny Piccari doubled in the tying run in the third inning and later scored to take the lead as Hammonton cruised to the win.

Hammonton then scored five in the fourth, two in the fifth and four in the sixth. Piccari had three hits, four runs and two doubles.

District 3 Little League

Junior baseball: East Vineland 14, South Vineland 12 (6½ innings).

Senior baseball: South Vineland 29, Elmer 0 (five innings)

11-12 baseball: South Vineland 11, East Vineland 6 (six innings).

11-12 softball: West Cumberland 9, Harrison Township 5.

From Thursday

9-10 baseball: East Vineland 3, Millville American 2.

Senior baseball: South Vineland 7, Buena 2 (seven innings).

10-11 baseball: Elmer 11, Buena 4 (six innings); East Vineland 11, Millville American 9 (5½ innings).

11-12 baseball: Pennsville 6, Millville 4 (six innings).

Senior softball: West Cumberland 28, Salem 0.
