The Hammonton 10-11-year-old softball team rallied in the bottom of the sixth inning to win the District 16 championship 17-16 over visiting Northfield on Monday at Hammonton Lake Park.
Hammonton will host the state tournament Aug. 6-10 at Hammonton Lake Park.
Hammonton trailed 16-12 but scored five runs in the bottom of the sixth. Gianna Alessandrini singled in the winning run with one out. Hammonton's Nina Gazzara hit a three-run double to cut the Northfield lead to 16-15, and Naomi Delores hit an RBI single to tie it.
Caitlyn Galletta had four hits for Hammonton, while Jenny Linden and Nikki Silipino added three hits apiece.
For Northfield, Madison Disidori went 3-for-5 and Megan McManus was 2-for-4 with two RBIs. Jessica Higbee doubled and drove in three runs, and Kelton Dooner had a two-run double. Pitcher Molly Rosado went the distance and scored twice.
