Joyce's Stars, Camden Reds win at Bridgeton Invitational

Joyce’s Stars beat Max’s Baseball 4-1 at the 46th annual Bridgeton Invitational Baseball Tournament on Thursday at Alden Field.

Gage Mick hit a two-run homer in the sixth inning for Joyce’s.

Also for the winners, Lowell Mooneyham was 2-for-2 and Gary Fischer went 2-for-3. Winning pitcher Andrew Owens went six innings and struck out two. Steve Melchiorre pitched the seventh inning for Joyce’s and had one strikeout.

Camden Reds 15, Tri-State Threat 5, 4.5 innings: Luis Quintero went 4-for-4 for Camden with a double, a two-run homer and six RBIs. Nolan Mansfield was 3-for-4 with a two-run homer and three RBIs for the winners, and teammates Will Maldonado and Rick Strongski each went 3-for-4 with a double. Junior Rodriguez added a double and a single. For Tri-State, Bill Pace hit a two-run home run.

The tournament continues at 6:30 p.m. today as Garton’s Rigging plays Joyce’s Stars. At 8:15 p.m., the Camden Reds meet Clancy’s Pub Pride.
