Justin Byrd struck out five and pitched a complete game for his second win of the season as Ocean City beat Egg Harbor City 6-3 in an Atlantic County Baseball League game Tuesday.
Denny Padick went 2-for-2 and scored two runs for Ocean City (3-10). Graham Ginn also went 2-for-2, including a double, and had two RBIs.
For Egg Harbor City (7-8), Vaughn Champion homered in the first inning.
Absecon 7, EHT 1: Matt Allen tossed a three-hitter, striking out five.
Mike Hampton, Anthony Cocuzza, Kenny Morgenweck and Kevin Sicali each had two hits. Hampton and Cocuzza each doubled for Absecon (12-7).
Rob Algeo hit a solo home run in the sixth inning for Egg Harbor Township (1-15).
