Northfield’s Anthony Cappuccio drove in Jeffrey Toth in the bottom of the sixth inning for a 3-2 win Thursday in the Section 4 Little League tournament.

Joseph Palmari started and Kyle Rosenfeld earned the win in relief.

Northfield will face the winner of East Greenwich and Millville today at 8 p.m. in a losers’ bracket semifinal.

On Wednesday, Northfield fell 2-1 Haddonfield in nine innings. Cappuccio and Kyle Campbell pitched for Northfield.

Big League Baseball World Series

West 2, East 1: The District 3 team from Cumberland County left five runners on base in the loss in their opening game at the Big League World Series in Easley, S.C.

The West, represented by Southern California, scored twice in the top of the fourth and held on. Vaughn Watson was 2-for-3, while Buena Regional graduate Anthony Lopez had a hit and a run scored in the bottom of the seventh.

Cumberland County will play host S.C. District One today at 7:30 p.m.
