Anthony Cappuccio and Kyle Campbell combined on a no-hitter to lead Northfield to an 11-0 victory in five innings over host Lower Cape May in a District 16 Little League 10-11-year-old baseball game Saturday.
Cappuccio, the winning pitcher, went three innings as Northfield reached the winners-bracket final. He and Campbell combined to strike out eight.
Also for Northfield, Gabe Arena had two hits and Nate Kwapinski scored three runs.
Northfield moved on to face Absecon on Wednesday at 7 p.m. in Linwood in the winners-bracket final.
District 3 13-14 baseball
Buena 21, East Vineland 7, seven innings: Buena reached the winners-bracket final. Dom Lopez hit a two-run homer and a three-run shot for Buena. Andrew Cartier had four hits, and Len Coulter reached base four times.
Buena will play a winners-bracket final game against an opponent to be determined at 6 p.m. Wednesday in East Vineland.
Buena 19, Woodstown 0, five innings (Friday): Buena's Kris Morgenweck pitched a three-hitter over the five-inning distance. Teammate Jordan Ellis reached base five times.
Babe Ruth 13-15 baseball
Brigantine will play host Margate at 7 p.m. on Tuesday in the Atlantic Shore Babe Ruth 13-15 National League championship game. The contest will be at the Jerome Avenue complex.
Both teams are 2-0 in the playoffs. Margate beat Somers Point 10-0 and won by forfeit against Mays Landing. Brigantine defeated Egg Harbor Township 13-7 and Ventnor 12-5.
Margate's lineup includes Matt O'Toole, Colton Ulmer, Shane Stack and Cameron Marchel. Brigantine's leaders include Matt Ferrante, Zach Argue, Steve Dascenzo and Bryan Buchbinder.
