The District 3/Combined team from West Cumberland defeated Chatham, N.Y., 1-0 Wednesday in a Senior League Eastern Regional softball tournament game in Worcester, Mass. West Cumberland finished second in Pool B to advance to the semifinals and will play New Gloucester, Maine, at 10 a.m. today.

South Vineland 5, Freehold 4: Jaques Colon and Raekwon Ortiz had three hits a piece as South Vineland took the New Jersey State Senior League baseball title in eight innings Tuesday in Old Bridge.

Jimmy Hague, Mike Forte, Roberto Rivera and Carmelo Rosado each drove in a run. Timmy Williams earned the win in relief.

South Vineland will play the winner of Scarborough, Maine, and Auburn, Mass., on Saturday at 7:30 p.m. in a winners’ bracket game at the East Regional in West Deptford.

D-3 Junior Softball

West Cumberland 4, Morristown National 3: West Cumberland is the New Jersey state champion. It advanced to the East Regional in West Haven, Conn., on Friday. West Cumberland will play the Delaware state champions at 9:30 a.m.
