GALLOWAY TOWNSHIP — Stockton Seaview Hotel and Golf Club will continue hosting the ShopRite LPGA Classic Presented by Acer for the next five years.

The Classic announced Wednesday it reached a multiyear extension with Stockton Seaview through 2023, according to a statement. Stockton Seaview, managed by Troon Golf, has hosted the Classic since 1998.

This year, the tournament will be held between June 4 and 10.

The Eiger Marketing Group, which runs the Classic, announced last June an agreement with the LPGA and ShopRite’s parent company, Wakefern Food Crop., to continue the tournament through 2023, The Press previously reported.

“We are thrilled to return to Stockton Seaview under a new multiyear commitment,” said Executive Director of the ShopRite LPGA Classic Tim Erenson. “The Bay Course is one of the LPGA players’ favorite annual stops, and Reeds Bay provides one of the most scenic backdrops in all of professional golf. We want to thank our partners at Troon and Stockton Seaview, and look forward to continued success.”

“We are delighted that Stockton Seaview will continue to host such a prestigious golfing event,” said Stockton University President Dr. Harvey Kesselman. “Over the years, thousands of visitors have witnessed some of the most exciting finishes on the LPGA tour by such legendary champions as Annika Sorenstam, Betsy King and Se Ri Pak. Stockton is proud to participate in an event that not only promotes tourism and business, but also helps support charitable organizations throughout South Jersey.”

The Classic began in 1986 and is one of South Jersey’s top sporting events. Few local events in sports or entertainment bring more publicity to the greater Atlantic City area. Shots of the Atlantic City Boardwalk and beaches are often featured on the Golf Channel’s national television coverage.

Erensen is one of Eiger Marketing Group’s managing partners.
