Friday: The Padres will open a series at home against the Diamondbacks at 10:10 p.m. Taijuan Walker (3-3, 3.91) is Arizona’s scheduled starter. Szczur has not faced him.

Stats: Szczur is hitting .238 (10 for 42) with one home run, four runs scored and six RBIs in 23 games.
