Mike Trout, an outfielder with the Los Angeles Angels, was the 2012 American League Rookie of the Year and MVP runner-up. Trout, 21, is a 2009 Millville High School graduate who was a two-time Press Player of the Year and The Press Male Athlete of the Year for the 2008-09 school year.

Tuesday: Trout was 1-for-2 with a homer, a walk, a sacrifice fly and a stolen base through eight innings against Kansas City.

Late Monday: Trout went 1-for-4 with a run scored in an 11-4 loss to the Royals.

Today: The Angels host Kansas City at 10:05 p.m. Wade Davis (2-3, 5.86 ERA) starts for K.C.

Stats: Trout was hitting .283 with 25 RBIs and 24 runs scored in 38 games through Monday. He had 11 doubles, three triples, six homers and six stolen bases.
