Mike Trout, an outfielder with the Los Angeles Angels, was the 2012 American League Rookie of the Year and MVP runner-up. Trout, 21, is a 2009 Millville High School graduate who was a two-time Press Player of the Year and The Press Male Athlete of the Year for the 2008-09 school year.

Monday: Trout went 2-for-5 with a triple, an RBI and two runs scored in an 8-7 loss to the Dodgers.

Today: The Angels play at the Dodgers at 10:10 p.m. Hyun-Jin Ryu (5-2, 3.30) is scheduled to start for the Dodgers.

Stats: Trout was hitting .304 with 41 runs scored and 37 RBIs in 51 games. He has 13 doubles, six triples, 10 home runs and 12 stolen bases. While his average is lower than it was through 51 games last year (.338), he has twice as many triples, three more homers and eight more RBIs.
