LHP Scott DeCecco (Middle Township) started for the Everett AquaSox (Mariners) in a late game against the Spokane Indians (Rangers) on Sunday in the short-season Class A Northwest League. DeCecco gave up four runs, three earned, in five innings before leaving with a 6-4 lead. He allowed eight hits, struck out four and walked two. His ERA is now 4.14 through 12 appearances, including six starts.

CF Darren Ford (Vineland) went 1-for-5 with an RBI for the Tacoma Rainiers (Mariners) in a 4-2 win over the Memphis Redbirds (Cardinals) in the triple-A Pacific Coast League. Ford is hitting .280 with 23 stolen bases in 49 games this season.

CF Matt Szczur (Lower Cape May Regional) went 1-for-5 for the Tennessee Smokies in a 4-0 win over the Huntsville Stars (Brewers) in the double-A Southern League. Szczur is hitting .227 in 17 games for the Smokies and .283 in 95 games overall.

OF Alexi Colon (St. Augustine Prep) did not play for the Eugene Emeralds (Padres) in a 5-3 loss to the Tri-City Dust Devils (Rockies) in the Northwest League. Colon is hitting .182 with 14 RBIs in 66 at-bats.

RHP A.J. Holland (Holy Spirit) started Friday for the Rome Braves in the Class-A South Atlantic League, giving up three runs in six innings. Holland was listed on the team’s website as being on the disabled list, but he said in a text message to The Press that that is a mistake. He is 2-8 with a 4.52 ERA in 13 games, including 12 starts, for Rome this year. His next scheduled start is Wednesday.
