Matt Szczur, 27, is a 2007 Lower Cape May Regional High School graduate from Lower Township. He earned a World Series championship ring with the 2016 Cubs and was traded May 8 to the San Diego Padres.

Sunday: Szczur struck out in his only at-bat as a pinch-hitter in the Padres' 2-1 loss to the Milwaukee Brewers.

Monday: Szczur makes his return to Wrigley Field at 8:05 p.m. as the Padres face the Cubs. Jon Lester (4-4, 3.89) is scheduled to start for Chicago. Szczur has not faced his former teammate.

Stats: Szczur is hitting .187 (14 for 75) with two home runs, nine runs scored and nine RBIs in 44 games.
