Mike Trout, 25, a center fielder with the Los Angeles Angels and a 2009 Millville High School graduate, was the 2014 and 2016 American League Most Valuable Player.
Sunday: Went 1 for 4 in a 4-3 win over the Rays. He batted third and played center field.
Monday: The Angels were off.
Tuesday: The Angels will host the Nationals in a 10:07 p.m. game on a night in which fans will receive a double Trout bobblehead in honor of his two MVP awards. Washington’s starter had not been announced.
Stats: Trout is hitting .337 (59 for 175) with 16 home runs, 36 RBIs, 36 runs scored and 11 stolen bases in 50 games. His on-base percentage is .457, his OPS 1.171.
More stats: Trout has missed 45 games in 2017 after missing a total of 16 from 2013-16. ... When he was injured May 28, Trout was tied with the Braves’ Freddie Freeman for the major league lead in on-base percentage (.461) and with the Yankees’ Aaron Judge for the most home runs (16).
