Wildwood Crest native Frank Vogel coaches the Indiana Pacers. Every Sunday, The Press will look back on the Pacers' week of games.
Monday: Indiana hung with the first-place Chicago Bulls for the first two quarters but ended up losing 92-72 in a matchup of teams that came in on six-game win streaks. Chicago outrebounded the Pacers 60-32 and outscored them 20-4 on second-chance points.
"Give credit to the Bulls," Vogel told the Associated Press. "They had all the hustle stats. Won all the loose balls and obviously kicked our butts on the glass. "
Tuesday: The Pacers lost 101-96 to the Atlanta Hawks, getting outrebounded 45-37 and allowing Atlanta to grab 14 offensive rebounds.
"We didn't defend the 3 well and didn't do a good enough job on the defensive glass," Vogel told the AP. "It cost us the game. I don't think we were ourselves the last two games."
Saturday: Indiana lost 93-91 to the Miami Heat in overtime.
This week: The Pacers (23-14) play at Orlando today. They host Portland on Tuesday and Philadelphia on Wednesday before a home-and-home series with the Knicks, Friday in New York and Saturday at home.
