Fredlin Mompremier scored both goals to lead the Ocean City Nor’easters soccer team to a 2-1 win over the host Evergreen FC Hammers on Saturday in Leesburg, Virginia. Al the scoring was in the first half.
The win put the Nor’easters at 6-3 (second place) in the Premier Development League’s Mid-Atlantic Division. Evergreen FC dropped to 1-6-1. Ocean City is 11-0-1 all time against the Hammers.
Mompremier took a pass from Ismael Noumansana on a two-on-one break and scored in the 29th minute to make it 1-0 Ocean City.
Lewis Long tied it for the Hammers in the 37th minute. But Mompremier added his team-leading seventh goal to win it two minutes later. Nor’easters goalie Todd Morton had six saves.
O.C. plays its final regular-season road game at 7:30 p.m. Friday at Reading United AC. The Nor’easters return home for a game against FA Euro New York at 7 p.m. Sunday at Carey Stadium in Ocean City.
