Nor'easters win, AC Crusaders lose

Zoncher Dennis scored twice as the Ocean City Nor’easters defeated the New Jersey Rangers 2-1 at Carey Stadium on Friday.

Dennis scored his first goal in the 23rd minute when he headed in Jason Plumhoff’s corner kick.

He struck again later in the first half when club captain Terry Gibbs played a volley pass to Markhus Lacroix. Lacroix’s shot was saved but Dennis was able to head in the rebound.

The Rangers added a goal from Dave Cornwell in the second half.

Shots were 12-12 in the game.

New Jersey 0 1 — 1

Ocean City 2 0 — 2

Goals—Dennis (2) OC; Cornwell NJ.

Goalies—McCarthy (6) OC; Killain (3) NJ.

Records—Ocean City 11-2; New Jersey 7-5-3.

FC Sonic 3, AC Crusaders 0: The Crusaders were defeated by FC Sonic, the first-place team in the Keystone Conference, in a game at Lehigh University in Bethlehem, Pa.

Jeremy Ortiz had a chance to bring the game within one for the Crusaders with 10 minutes remaining but could not convert.
