LUMBERTON — U.S. women's soccer champ Carli Lloyd says the victory at the London Olympics hasn't sunk in yet.

Lloyd spoke to reporters Tuesday while over 100 children practiced their drills at Universal Soccer Academy in Lumberton.

Lloyd practiced on the same fields after losing her long-held starting job weeks before the London games. She says she thought her life was over.

She got back on the field when Shannon Boxx injured her hamstring in the opening game.

The Delran, N.J., native and Rutgers grad scored both U.S. goals to lead the women's team to Olympic gold in a 2-1 victory against Japan in London.

She also scored the winning goal against Brazil in Beijing four years ago.
