The ninth Annual Chip Miller Surf and Turf is today, starting with a 7 a.m. check-in for the surf fest at 7th Street Beach in Ocean City.
The surf contest is the start of an all-day event that benefits Amyloidosis research and awareness, a disease Miller passed away from in 2004. The surf fest runs from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
This year's event also will feature the first Chip Miller Cup Miniature Golf Tournament, hosted by Tee Time Mini Golf on the Boardwalk. Ticket sales for the event, which includes two flights - individual and parent/child - start at 8 a.m. on the beach and will be available all day. Tickets are $5 per player, $10 per team.
An after-party at Greate Bay Country Club in Somers Point starts at 6 p.m. Entry is $35, which includes an all-you-can-eat buffet.
Registration for the surf contest has closed, but a first-come, first-serve alternate list will start at 7 a.m. in case of no-shows.
