Margate Beach Patrol earned the team title in the Dutch Hoffman Memorial Lifeguard Championships tonight in Wildwood.

Chris Graves and Bob Bachtel earned two points for Margate with a third-place finish in the doubles row, and Pat Flynn earned three points with a fourth-place finish in swimming. Chuck Gowdy finished second in the singles row for four points, giving Margate a winning total of nine points overall.

Longport finished second overall with seven points. Atlantic City was third, also with seven points, on a tie-breaker.

Chris Vittese and Anthony Onimus of Cape May won the doubles row, and Devin McCall of Stone Harbor won the swim race.

Upper Township’s Ford Palmer was first in the two-mile run, and Atlantic City’s Jim Smith won the singles row.
