Beach patrol members from throughout South Jersey begin the 2-mile beach run at the Dutch Hoffman Memorial lifeguard Championships in Wildwood on Friday night. Upper Township’s Ford Palmer, a Monmouth University runner, won the race in 9 minutes, 46 seconds, beating Wildwood’s Mike Syrnick by 6 seconds.
