Professional golfer Joanna Coe, a Mays Landing native and Oakcrest High School graduate, experienced a thrill Tuesday during a round of golf at Bay Hill Club & Lodge in Orlando, Fla.

"Played Bay Hill yesterday and got to meet and chat with Arnold Palmer after my round at the driving range!" Coe said via Twitter and Facebook. "He watched me hit some balls (very nerve wracking!!) and complimented me on my golf swing. A very cool feeling :)."

Coe, who lives in Orlando, Fla., also posted a photo on Facebook that showed Palmer sitting in a golf cart and watching Coe's swing.

Coe, 23, is about to start her second season on the LPGA's Symetra Tour later this month, when she participates in the VisitMesa.com Gateway Classic on Feb. 22-24 in Mesa, Ariz. Coe flew to Phoenix on Wednesday for a private club fitting with Ping and is scheduled to attend the Waste Management Phoenix Open at TPC Scottsdale over the weekend.

"I'm really looking foward to it," Coe said in a phone interview last week. "I'm going to hang out at the 16th hole (which is considered the rowdiest hole on the PGA Tour)."
