Pairings for the South Jersey Coaches Tournament were announced Monday and three area teams made the field.
The Middle Township and Ocean City High School soccer teams each made the prestigious 16-team field on the boys side.
Ocean City was the only area girls team to qualify.
Middle (12-0), No. 3 in The Press Elite 11, is the No. 5 seed and will host No. 12 Cherokee in the first round. Cherokee is No. 10 in The Press Elite 11. Corey Daniels leads the Panthers with 10 goals. Scott Kurkowski has 10. Middle has been dominant all season, outscoring opponents 49-2 through 12 games.
Ocean City (10-1-1) is seeded sixth and will host 11th-seeded Haddonfield in the first round.
Zack Sakena leads a dynamic Red Raiders attack with 11 goals and 12 assists. Brandon MacFarlane, Don VanMeter and Noah Spear each have five goals. Evan McCardell has six shutouts.
The Ocean City girls team has a tough draw as the No. 16 seed.
The Red Raiders (6-1) will face top-seeded Eastern, the No. 1 team in The Press Elite 11.
Devon Terwilliger has five goals and three assists to lead the team. Two of Patricia Fox's three goals this season have been game-winners. Meghan Kelly has four shutouts.
First-round games have to be played by this Friday with second-round games by Oct. 25. The semifinals and finals are on Oct. 27 and Nov. 2 at Paul VI.
