Garret Kerr (Middle Township) scored a season-high 29 points as the University of the Sciences men's basketball team held off a late rally by Wilmington University and beat the Wildcats 78-76 on Wednesday.

The sophomore connected on 13-of-18 shots from the field and added three free throws en route to his season-high 29 points. He also grabbed eight rebounds to lead all players.

Kerr also led the Devils with 22 points and a season-high 15 rebounds, six assists and three steals in a 74-53 win over Nyack College on Saturday.

In a 71-68 loss to West Chester University on Nov. 26, Kerr scored 11 points and had five rebounds.

Ryan Gill (Ocean City) had five points, two rebounds and an assist for Hartwich College in its 73-40 win over Keuka College on Friday. ... Forward Matt Whitworth (Ocean City) contributed 15 points and seven rebounds as Rowan University beat New Jersey City University 67-57 on Saturday. Teammate David Jones (Cumberland Regional) totaled seven rebounds and six points.

Women's basketball

Immaculata University's Emily Bell (Holy Spirit) scored four points in a 94-29 victory over Colonial States Athletic Conference foe Notre Dame of Maryland University on Monday. ... Bria Hill (Atlantic City) scored seven points for Rowan University in a 66-58 loss to Rutgers-Camden on Wednesday and scored 16 points in a 61-60 loss to New Jersey City on Saturday. ... Tierney Henderson (Barnegat) scored four first-half points for Ramapo as it edged Rutgers-Camden 44-41 on Saturday. ... Emily Duggan (Ocean City) scored eight points and added nine rebounds and two steals in Gettysburg College's 68-40 win over Bryn Mawr College on Saturday. ... Gina DiDomenico (Egg Harbor Township) scored seven points and handed out five assists for Eastern University in a 62-59 win against Manhattanville College.


The College of New Jersey freshman Antonio Mancella (Oakcrest) had a pin at 1 minute, 18 seconds at 157-pounds as the Lions beat King's College 27-10 last Tuesday. Teammate Brian Broderick (Southern Regional) picked up the Lions' fourth straight win with a 19-4 technical fall at 184-pounds. ...Third-ranked Broderick also captured first place at 184-pounds as TCNJ finished second at the New Standard Corporation Invitational at York College on Saturday. Mancella picked up four wins at the tournament, three of them coming by pin.

Women's swimming

Teresa Stearns (Holy Spirit) was a part of Rowan's winning 200-yard freestlye relay team (1:41.31) as the Profs took first place after the first session of the Swarthmore College Invitational on Friday. On the second day, Stearns swam on the winning 200 medley relay team (1:54.33) as the Profs won the event with 1,185 total points over the two days. ... Noelle DeLusant (Oakcrest) of The College of New Jersey swam a personal-best 1:01:89 in the 100-yard butterfly in the preliminaries of the TCNJ Invitational on Saturday. She finished sixth in the finals in 1:02:27. The freshman also reached the finals of the 200 IM and 100 backstroke and took fifth as part of the 200 medley relay team.

Men's swimming

Rowan's Ben Cain (Holy Spirit) took first place in the 50 freestyle as Rowan finished in first place after the first session of the Swarthmore College Invitational on Friday. Teammates Brad Hawkins (Cumberland Regional) took seventh in the 200 individual medley and Mike Demarest (Absegami) finished sixth in the 50 free for the Profs. On the second day, Hawkins took second (56.46) in the 100 backstroke followed by Cain in third (56.81) and Demarest in fourth (57.71). Rowan won the competition with 1,111.5 points.

Women's diving

In the three-meter (six dives), Kylie O'Rourke (Lower Cape May Regional) finished sixth with 185.80 for Rowan at the Lions' Invitational at TCNJ on Friday. O'Rourke also took ninth (323.05) in the three-meter, 11 dive event. ... West Chester's Michelle Heinemann (Egg Harbor Township) placed fifth in the three-meter, 11-dive (421.55), third in the three-meter, six-dive (238.65), third in the one-meter, six-dive (239.45) and third in the 11-dive event (408.6) at TCNJ's Invitational. Heinemann qualified for the NCAA Division II national championship in Birmingham, Ala., in March in the three-meter and one-meter boards.

Men's diving

Jerry Johnson (Egg Harbor Township) came in seventh in the one-meter (11 dives) with 235.43 points at the Lions' Invitational at TCNJ on Friday.

Ice hockey

Wentworth Institute of Technology's Kevin Crowe (St. Augustine Prep) scored the only goal of the first period off a rebound during a power play in a 4-3 loss to Nichols College. In Wentworth's 9-5 win over Becker College, Crowe scored 17 seconds into the first period. He scored his second goal of the game on a power play in the first.

Ice skating

Freshman Tricia DeFelice (Ocean City) helped Adrian College to a fifth place finish at the Bronco Challenge Cup Intercollegiate Figure Skating Championship at Western Michigan University on Nov. 3. DeFelice placed first in senior ladies short and long programs, gold in solo ice dance and second in international solo ice dance. She also skated on Adrian's high-level maneuver team that placed second.

Women's indoor track and field

Jessica Carlson (Southern Regional) was a part of Rowan's winning 4x200-meter relay team (1:47.25) as the Profs finished fifth at Ursinus College on Saturday.

Field hockey

Muhlenberg College senior Devon Barber (Absegami) was named to the Centennial Conference Academic Honor Roll and the Fall All-Centennial Conference Sportsmanship Team for 2012.

Women's soccer

Misericordia University senior Nicolette Hensel (Buena Regional) competed in the NCAA Division II semifinals in San Antonio on Friday, where the Cougars lost 3-0 to Messiah College. Hensel finished her season leading the team and conference with 11 assists. She played in every game in her four years at Misericordia and started in 86.
