Mike Trout of Millville is a rookie outfielder with the Los Angeles Angels. Trout, 21, is a 2009 Millville High School graduate who was The Press Player of the Year that season.

Thursday: Trout was 1-for-3 with a walk and one run scored in a 6-0 win over the Athletics.

Today: The Angels play at Kansas City at 8:10 p.m.

Quotes: Teammate Torii Hunter says if Trout wins a Gold Glove award, it will be deserved. “But if I know Trout, when I talk to him, it’s, ‘Let’s not worry about that until the time comes.’ He's really worried about (the team) winning,” said Hunter, a nine-time Gold Glove winner, in a story by Alden Gonzalez on the Angels’ website. “He wants to win; that’s all he wants to do. To get a 21-year-old who’s not worried about that individual stuff, that’s pretty impressive.”
