OCEANPORT — The $1 million Haskell Invitational at Monmouth Park has been scheduled for July 28.
The thoroughbred racetrack announced its stakes schedule on Friday, saying it would be worth $6 million and include 16 graded events worth $3.45 million.
Among the notable changes to the calendar are the return of the Salvator Mile on July 6 and a shift of the Monmouth Cup, which will now be contested on Haskell Day. The Molly Pitcher, which was contested on Haskell Day for the first time in 2012, will once again be renewed on that day, which now features five graded stakes.
The Red Bank Stakes, which was contested on July 4 last year, will lead off this season’s graded stakes schedule when renewed on May 18. Opening day is set for May 11.
