The Ocean City Nor'easters soccer team tied Reading United 1-1 on Saturday in a United Soccer Leagues Premier Development League game between the Mid-Atlantic Division's two top teams.

Ocean City struck first when Tony Asante scored on a breakaway in the 45th minute, after a pass from Markhus Laxcroix. Reading tied it in the 86th minute when Jason Plumhoff, a former Nor'easter, scored on a header after a cross.

The Nor'easters are 6-1-1 overall and 4-0-1 (13 points) in the Mid-Atlantic Division. Reading is 4-0-2 in the division and leads with 14 points.

Ocean City goalie Brian Billings had nine saves, and Reading keeper John McCarthy, another former Nor'easter, made 10 saves. O.C. had a 16-14 edge in shots.

The Nor'easters play their final away game of the regular season at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Long Island Rough Riders. Ocean City begins an eight-game home stand at 7 p.m. next Sunday against the Jersey Express at Carey Stadium in Ocean City.
