BMX rider Scotty Cranmer won his third career gold medal at the 2012 X Games in Los Angeles on Saturday.

The Jackson Township native scored a two-round total of 79 points in the BMX Park event to win his first gold since 2009. The 25-year-old finished just ahead of Ryan Nyquist (77 points) and Pat Casey (76).

Cranmer also won in 2006.

Defending champion Daniel Dhers, who won four of the last five BMX Park gold medals, pulled out of his qualifying heat following a crash.

Mays Landing native Ronnie Faisst won his third straight bronze medal in the Moto X Speed & Style competition after Edgar Torronteras couldn't compete in the semifinals. Faisst finshed with a score of 86.7. Mike Mason got gold with 92.8 points, followed by Nate Adams with 91.3 points.
