(One in a series of profiles about a new player who could have a major impact for the Eagles entering training camp)
Player: Cary Williams
Weight: 190 pounds
How acquired: Free agency
The skinny: The Eagles signed Williams to a three-year, $16.5 million contract in an effort to upgrade their secondary. Williams, who started every game last season while helping Baltimore win the Super Bowl, is expected to replace either Nnamdi Asomugha (San Francisco) or Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie (Denver) as a starter. However, Williams' focus came into question during the offseason when he skipped a few of the Eagles' voluntary organized team activities (OTAs)
during the offseason in order to attend his daughter's dance recital, undergo dental surgery and oversee construction of a new house among other reasons.
Tomorrow: Tight end Zach Ertz
