(One in a series of profiles about a new player who could have a major impact for the Eagles entering training camp)

Player: Zach Ertz

Height: 6-feet-5

Weight: 250 pounds

Age: 22

Position: Tight end

How acquired: 2013 draft pick (second round)

The skinny: The Stanford University product could play a major role in new coach Chip Kelly's innovative offense if it features a lot of two-tight end sets as expected. Ertz's size and speed enabled him to catch 69 passes for 898 yards last season for the Cardinal. The question is how fast he can learn the Eagles' new offense. An NFL rule prohibited Ertz from participating in the Eagles' organized team activities and a full-team minicamp in early June because Stanford's spring semester had not ended

Tomorrow: Nose tackle Isaac Sopoaga
