Backup infielder Cesar Hernandez, optioned to Lehigh Valley after Wednesday’s game, was replaced on the roster by utility man Michael Martinez, who was recalled from the Triple-A club. To fill in on the staff for the absence of Cloyd, left-hander Jake Diekman was recalled from Lehigh Valley.

The team announced Lannan will start Monday’s game against Washington. Another move will be made then to accommodate the left-hander’s activation from the disabled list. He’s been out with a strained quadriceps tendon in his left knee.

Diekman will join the team for Friday’s game at Colorado.
