The Atlantic City High School defense faces its biggest challenge of the season today.

The eighth-seeded Vikings (4-4) play at top-seeded Eastern (8-1) in a South Jersey Group V quarterfinal at 7 p.m.

The Vikings must slow down Eastern quarterback Tom Flacco, the younger brother of Super Bowl MVP and Baltimore Ravens quarterback Joe Flacco.

Tom Flacco has completed 142-of-227 passes for 2,135 yards and 20 touchdowns. He has also run for 614 yards and 10 touchdowns.

Eastern is No. 4 in The Press Elite 11. Its only loss was a 28-21 defeat to Cherokee on Oct. 25.

Atlantic City qualified for the playoffs with a 43-31 win over Absegami last Friday.

The Vikings feature plenty of underclassmen, including sophomore quarterback Jamir Prevard (above at right), who has thrown for 15 touchdowns.

Key players for Atlantic City: Jamir Prevard, QB, 15 touchdown passes; Isiah Graves, WR, six touchdown catches; Robert Parker, WR; Dennis White, WR; Naheem Molly, RB/DB; Ahmad Williams, RB; Derrick Osh-shakkur, RB/LB.

Key players for Eastern: Tom Flacco, QB, 142-of-227 for 2,135 yards and 20 touchdowns; Keshawn Segers, WR, 47 catches for 887 yards and eight touchdowns; Kingsley Ayeni, RB, 64 carries for 527 yards; Cinque Hill, WR, 24 catches for 425 yards and four touchdowns.

Keys to victory: The ball should be in the air plenty tonight. Atlantic City must defend the pass. But Flacco will be difficult to stop, so the Vikings must use their own passing game to create big plays.

Atlantic City's best chance to win might just be in a high-scoring game.
