Former Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver DeSean Jackson is reportedly close to signing a contract with the Washington Redskins.

Former Eagles wide receiver DeSean Jackson is reportedly close to signing with the NFC East rival Washington Redskins.

Jackson left the Redskins' facility after meeting with new coach Jay Gruden and others, but did not sign a contract. However,, and the Washington Post indicated Jackson has remained in town while his agent Joel Segal tries to work out a deal.

Jackson, who spent the previous six seasons with the Eagles before being released last Friday, dined with Gruden and other Redskins coaches upon arriving in Washington Monday and later went to a nightclub with Redskins cornerback DeAngelo Hall and wide receiver Pierre Garcon.

According to, Jackson also hung out with Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III in Los Angeles over the weekend.

"Very exciting player," Griffin told ESPN's Britt McHenry Tuesday. "Determined to show he is the best and hungry to win. My kind of guy."

Should Jackson not sign with Washington, other teams are ready to pounce. Cleveland and San Francisco are said to be very interested in signing Jackson, a three-time Pro Bowler who's considered one of the league's most dynamic players.
