The Richard Stockton College softball team got just two hits in a 3-0 loss to third-seeded and host The College of New Jersey in the opening round of the New Jersey Athletic Conference tournament Tuesday.
Nicole Scanlon doubled for the fourth-seeded Ospreys, and Grace Long (Egg Harbor Township) singled.
Stockton will face top-seeded Rowan on Friday at 1 p.m. in Glassboro in the double-elimination tournament.

Stockton baseball: The Ospreys allowed 20 hits in a 13-0 loss to Rowan, the No. 3 seed, in their first NJAC tournament appearance since 2010.
Erik Danser led the No. 4 Ospreys with two hits. Mike Bush (Southern Regional) reached base twice with a single and hit by pitch.
Steven Melchiorre (Hammonton) earned the win with five strikeouts in seven innings. He gave up four hits and no runs.
Stockton faces a must-win game in the double-elimination tournament when it plays at top-seeded Kean at 3:30 p.m. Thursday.
