The fourth-seeded Richard Stockton College softball team saw its comeback fall short on Friday, losing 6-3 to top-seeded Rowan University in a New Jersey Athletic Conference tournament second-round game.

A solo home run by NJAC Player of the Year Stephanie Labas (Millville) gave Rowan an early lead.

Alysa Romero (Vineland) and Dana Cafone (Absegami) also hit home runs for the Profs in the second inning.

Arielle Cooke made a game of it with a three-run home run in the fifth but that was as close as the Ospreys would get.

Winning pitcher LeAnne Miller (Vineland) struck out six to improve to 21-2 this season.
