Rowan shuts out College of New Jersey, hopes for at-large NCAA berth

Quarterback Louie Bianchini accounted for three touchdowns as the Rowan University football team kept its hopes alive for an at-large bid to the NCAA Division III tournament with a 26-0 win over The College of New Jersey on Friday in Glassboro.

Bianchini completed 13-of-26 passes for 178 yards and two touchdowns and ran for 93 yards and another touchdown.

Running back Keith Corcoran (St. Joseph) had 87 yards rushing on 23 carries for Rowan (7-2, 6-1 New Jersey Athletic Conference).

The Profs' defense limited the Lions to 167 yards of offense.

Linebacker Patrick Ruley (Atlantic City) had six tackles. Defensive backs Kurt Kingett (St. Augustine Prep) and Casey Dillon each had three tackles. Defensive back Steve Fortune (Bridgeton) had a tackle and a pass breakup.

For TCNJ, defensive back Sean Clark (St. Joseph) had 11 tackles and a blocked punt. Defensive lineman Mike Barber (Absegami) had seven tackles and a half-sack, and defensive lineman Patrick Kimball (Ocean City) had five tackles and a sack.

Rowan finishes the regular season at 7-2 overall and 6-1 in the NJAC. TCNJ finished at 4-6 and 3-5.

The NCAA will announce the field of the Division III football tournament at 6 p.m. Sunday.
