The Millville High School boys basketball team finished 12-12 but won nine of its last 13 games last season.
With nine seniors back, Millville hopes to build on that momentum.
"We have a veteran group. Kids who have been around the program for awhile," Jones said. "We have a lot of leadership. We feel pretty good where we're at."
Khaliq Ford, a 5-foot-8 senior guard averaged 13.8 points for the Thunderbolts. Senior Roberto Rivera, a 5-11 guard, is also one of the Thunderbolts' leaders.
"We have a lot of guys flying around on the court," Jones said. "We have to make up for our lack of size with our guard play."
Jones said Millville must be consistent on defense.
"We can't have lapses, especially against the better teams we play like Holy Spirit and Atlantic City," he said.
Jones said the Thunderbolts' goal is to make the South Jersey Group IV playoffs and earn at least one home playoff game. Millville also wants to contend for the Cape-Atlantic League tournament.
"The goal as far as how many wins or losses, I can't say," Jones said. "That depends on how things shape up. But we think we can have a stronger year than we did last year."
