The Cumberland County College baseball team defeated ASA College from Brooklyn, N.Y., 13-5, on Thursday.

The Dukes built a 6-5 lead through the seventh inning and broke it open with a seven-run eighth inning.

Winning pitcher Josh O'Neill (Millville H.S.) pitched 6 of an inning with three strikeouts and two walks, and improved to 4-2.

Anthony Lopez (Buena Regional) was 2-4, including a double, with an RBI . Cody Stashak (Oakcrest) was 2-4 with an RBI. Jordan Glover (Cherokee) doubled, tripled and had two RBIs.

The National Junior College Athletic Association ranked the Dukes sixth among its Division III baseball teams this week.

Cumberland hosts a doubleheader against Lehigh Carbon Community College on Saturday at noon and 3 p.m.
