The Tri-Cape softball team advanced to the Carpenter Cup championship game for the first time since 2005 with three wins Thursday at FDR Park in Philadelphia.

Tri-Cape will play two-time champion Delaware South for the title at 10:30 a.m. Monday.

Tri-Cape defeated Berks County/Little Lebanon 11-5 and then beat Delaware North 5-1 Thursday. Lehigh Valley forfeited in the loser's bracket final due to a lack of available players.

Against Berks County/Little Lebanon, Jackie DeLong (Wildwood Catholic) went 2-for-3, scored a run and had two RBIs. Lauren Tobolski (Sacred Heart) was 3-for-3 with two runs. DeLong also went 1-for-2 with a double and drove in two runs against Delaware North.

On Wednesday, Tri-Cape beat Lehigh Valley 5-2 but lost to Mercer County 4-3. Cheyenne Meyer (Cedar Creek) went 2-for-4 with a run and an RBI. Dominique Dandrea (St. Joseph) had a run and an RBI in the loss to Mercer County.
