Southern Regional ice hockey wins consolation game

The Southern Regional High School ice hockey team beat Jackson Memorial 3-2 in a consolation game of the Winding River Holiday Tournament at Winding River Ice Arena in Toms River on Friday. Ryan Rowland scored the third goal for the Rams to make it 3-1 with 3 minutes, 50 seconds left.

Johnny Rowland scored Southern's first goal in the second period, and brother Ryan assisted. Brandon Biegan scored the Rams' second goal. Southern goalie Nick Karp had 13 saves. Josh Lindo made 21 saves for Jackson.
