CHAPEL HILL, N.C. — St. Augustine Prep graduate Steve Pontrello scored two goals and Chad Tutton and Jimmy Bitter each had three and an assist to lead North Carolina past Lehigh 16-7 on Saturday in the first round of the NCAA men's lacrosse tournament.

Pontrello, a freshman, was The Press boys lacrosse Player of the Year in 2012.

Marcus Holman had four assists to help the fifth-seeded Tar Heels (13-3) extend the nation's longest current winning streak to 10.

David DiMaria and Patrick Corbett each scored two goals for the Mountain Hawks (12-5), but the Patriot League champions had their winning streak stopped at seven.

North Carolina outshot Lehigh 53-30 and took at least 12 shots in each period, while the Mountain Hawks didn't have more than nine shots in any period.
