ORONO, Maine - Kevin Monangai ran for 192 yards and two touchdowns to help Villanova beat Maine 35-14 Saturday.

John Robertson connected with St. Joseph High School graduate Norman White for a 27-yard touchdown to give Villanova (3-1, 2-0 Colonial Athletic Association) the early lead.

After Marcus Wasilewski responded for Maine, tying the game on a 7-yard touchdown run, Robertson's 26-yard strike to Mark Hamilton gave the Wildcats a 14-7 lead after the first quarter. They would never trail.

Monangai capped off a 10-play, 76-yard drive with a 13-yard touchdown run, as Maine (1-3, 0-1) struggled to move the ball, gaining two first downs in the second quarter.

Villanova used a heavy dose of Monangai and strong defense to dominate the second half. Both Monangai and Robertson added second half touchdowns and the Wildcats sealed their victory with stifling defense.

The Black Bears allowed seven sacks, turned the ball over twice and had a field goal attempt blocked.

White caught four passes for 51 yards and a touchdown. Defensive end Antoine Lewis (Mainland Regional) had seven tackles, including a sack. Safety Joe Sarnese (Holy Spirit) had seven tackles, a pass breakup and returned a kickoff 13 yards. Defensive back Craig James (Oakcrest) had three tackles. Place-kicker Chris Gough (St. Augustine Prep) had two touchbacks on kickoffs.

For Maine, running back running back David Hood (Absegami) did not play due to an injury.
