A flat start stifled Richard Stockton College’s chance at a comeback in a 72-63 nonconference men’s basketball loss to host Alvernia University on Thursday.

The Ospreys, who dropped to 9-2, were outscored 41-22 in the first half.

Rameel Johnson led Stockton with 13 points and Darnell McCargo had nine rebounds. 

Kevin Johnson contributed with 12 points and five steals. Rich Suhr also had 12 points.
