The Richard Stockton College men's basketball team defeated Widener University 63-53 in a nonleague game in Chester, Pa., on Saturday. The Ospreys (8-1) took the lead for good with just less than 10 minutes left.

Stoctkon's Darnell McCargo shot 6-for-8 from the floor and scored 17 points and had three assists and three steals. Rich Suhr added 13 points, and Rameel Johnson had eight points and nine rebounds. For Widener (2-7), Rodney Brown and Greg Lawson each had 15 points.

Atlantic Cape Community College men's basketball: Atlantic Cape Community beat host Sussex County Community College 75-70. Armin Cane (Pleasantville) led the Buccaneers (4-8) with 34 points and 15 rebounds. Cesar Sandoval (Absegami) added 16 points, and Reginald Jones (Egg Harbor Township) had nine points and 13 rebounds. Julian Martin finished with six points, six assists and five steals. Maxx Sweet led Sussex with 21 points and Omar Almir had 15 points.

Atlantic Cape Community College women's basketball: The Buccaneers defeated host Sussex County Community 62-36. Benivette Santiago (Oakcrest) scored 16 points and had 16 rebounds for Atlantic Cape - both career highs - and Kerry Player (Cape May Tech) had 14 points and 18 rebounds. Also for the winners, Arlene Craig (Absegami) added 12 points and six steals, and Darice Collier (Absegami) had 11 points and six steals. Atlantic Cape is 7-6.
