The Richard Stockton College softball team's 12-game win streak ended Thursday with a 2-1 loss to visiting St. Joseph's College in the opening game of a doubleheader, and the Ospreys rallied in the bottom of the seventh for a 5-4 win in the second game.
Brittany Ksiezopolski (5-1) took the loss in the first game despite striking out 10 and only giving up four hits. St. Joseph's scored its runs in the top of the seventh. Grace Long (Egg Harbor Township) drove in Stockton's only run of the game in the bottom of the fifth.
In the second game, Stephanie Hand (Oakcrest) came on in relief to earn her first win of the season. Stockton starting pitcher Michelle Pietrocola struck out nine, giving up six hits and four runs.
Nicole Tomo homered to left field in the bottom of the seventh to lead off the Ospreys' four-run rally. Hand and Gianna Cuffari hit back-to-back doubles followed by a single by Jessica Goncalves, who eventually scored the game winning run on a throwing error.
Goncalves and Dominique Dorris led the Ospreys with two hits apiece.

Cumberland College baseball: The Dukes went 3-1 on their spring break trip. Chet Godfrey (Millville) pitched a complete-game 3-2 win to highlight a doubleheader split with Brunswick County College in Bolivia, S.C., on Tuesday.
Anthony Lopez (Buena Regional) went 2-for-3 in the win. In an extra-inning 3-2 loss to Brunswick, Joe Palmer carried a no-hitter into the sixth for the Dukes, allowing one earned run and four hits.
In Martinsville, Va., Cumberland swept Patrick Henry Community College, 15-1 and 2-0, in a doubleheader Wednesday.
Ridge Herman earned the win in the first game, allowing two hits and one run with five strikeouts. Vaughn Watson (Vineland), Devin McCann and Cody Stashak (Oakcrest) each went 2-for-4. Lopez was 3-for-5 with three RBIs and four runs scored.
Casey Carothers (Lower Cape May) pitched 6 scoreless innings with seven strikeouts to earn the win in the second game.
McCann went 2-for-3 with a solo homer and two RBIs, and Stashak and Tim Gallagher (Hammonton) each got two hits.
